• Jim lives in Opelousas, LA with his wife, Theresa, four Doberman Pinschers , and an assortment of animals ranging from goats to turkeys.  Jim and Theresa are the parents of one daughter and two sons, all married and living in the same area.

• Jim is approved to judge all Working Breeds, Minature Pinschers, Jr. Showmanship, Half the Hound Group, and Best In Show.

• Jim purchased his first Doberman Pinscher in the late 1960's, specifically for obedience training.  This bitch was of the Marks-Tey breeding and completed her CD, CDX, and UD degrees in short order, going High in Trail several times.

• The "Dobes of Aquarius" came into being in 1974 with the purchase of Ch. Bailes' Beau Rikki V Rehbar. This was the first Doberman Pinscher finished by Jim.   In 1976, Jim and Richard Brue co-bred a litter producing Ch. Rehbar Delissa of Aquarius who became a Top 20 contender in 1978; as well as, becoming the dam of 70+ American Champions.  Her daughter, Vanessa, produced  14 American Champions, was Brood Bitch of the Year in 1991, and was also the dam of Odessa - a Top 20 winner the same year.  In 1995 from the "Delissa-Vanessa" breeding, came the 1995 DPCA Best of Breed Winner, Ch. Aquarius Damien v Ravenswood, one of the 65+ Champions.

• Puppies bred by Aquarius are out of bitches that have been health tested for Thyroid, VWD Vet-Gen and are OFA'd. Puppies are guaranteed healthy and will be replaced if found genetically unsound. All puppies are cropped and properly immunized before leaving which is about 10-12 weeks of age. After puppies have been cropped, they are separated in order to develop independence; such as sleeping in a crate alone and are placed in individual runs next to each other so they can run and play with each other along the runs. Each puppy is lead trained (informally) and are placed on several surfaces to play on; such as carpet, linoleum, concrete, asphalt, gravel, etc. When the puppy arrives at his new home, there should be no crying and the puppy should be well adjusted and socialized. Prices range from $850.00 to $2000.00.
